I am writing this to tell you about my experience with Irma Chavez-May. I met her in July as I was on a search to find a house to buy in Las Cruces. I was living in a rental that was month to month so I was able to move at any time. I called interested in a house that she had listed. She was very quick to respond and meet us at that house. While we were at that house she mentioned several houses that we might like. She took us right away and let us look. She showed us houses and I never felt pressured. Irma has always been so quick to respond and continued to show me houses that either she found or I found on the internet or by driving. In just serveral short months we found the perfect home and it was in Picacho Hills. It is so quiet and wonderful in our neighborhood. She was always so patient and hardworking. She was able to get the seller to pay half of some of the repairs that were needed on my home. She would meet the contractors and home inspectors each time they needed to be at my house. My family and I have known Ms. Irma Chavez-May of EXIT Realty in Las Cruces for the last 18 months. Irma helped us search for a house in 2008 summer. We made two offers and Irma walked us through the negotiation process. Unfortunately, they did not go through to fruition due to deficiencies during inspection and/or a very inflexible seller.
Irma has an excellent attitude and personality that makes it easy for the buyer to express what they are looking for. She has very important qualities, in that, she does not force her views on the buyer or push for an offer, she does not flinch in showing more houses, she is very perceptive in what the buyer is looking for even though the buyer may not be able to articulate it. Irma gives the buyer enough time and space to facilitate the search.
Given the commission structure in real estate, many agents tend to push for a sale by implicitly aligning themselves with the seller (or seller's agent). I never felt that Irma was one of those types of agents. She helped us in negotiations and at times argued against the seller's agent when they erred. Even after a sale was made, Irma helped us sort some house related troubles by talking on our behalf to the seller. She goes that extra mile.
I will strongly recommend Irma Chavez-May to anyone who is looking to buy a house. We are from India. I have a wife, a 9 year old son, a sister and old parents. She worked well with all of us and we are truly thankful to Irma to have helped us find a happy home.

I wanted to write to you to thank you so much for all your help to me during the process of selling my house and the purchasing my new house. You have been so professional throughout the entire process and very supportive to me during those critical moments when everything was touch and go.
It had been fourteen years since I sold and purchased a new home and there was so much I had forgotten about what prepping and selling entailed. From the beginning, you were there for me. You explained the contracts to me, what the implications were for me in signing. I took your advice about getting my house in order before it went on the market in order to make my home more attractive to buyers. Once an offer was made on my home, you were there throughout the entire process of signing the contracts, etc., always advising me as to what my options were and the implications of my signing the myriad documents meant to the sale. We made it! And my house was sold.
Then we went throught the process of finding a new place to live. Keeping in mind my budget and my likes, we looked at a wide variety of properties within Las Cruces before I found a place I liked. The financing of the new home was a long, convoluted process with so many twists and turns. What I truly appreciated throughout this process was being there for me, giving me encouragement when things looked bleak and dealing with other realtors and bankers to make sure that the house would wind up in my hands, which it did.

After sending our last child off to college, my wife Lisa and I decided to escape the cold winters of Pennsylvania, and relocate to sunny New Mexico. After doing much research on the internet, we chose Las Cruces as the perfect place for us.We wrote to the Chamber of Commerce requesting information, and with it came a deluge of calls and letters from real eastate agents. Most lost interest after a few calls or e-mail exchanges, evidently not wanting to "waste" their time on a family that may or may not move to their area. Only one consistently answered each and every e-mail, and provided Lisa and I with all the information we requested. Irma Chavez-May from EXIT Realty Horizons. It's a difficult and nerve-wracking decision to pick up and move cross-country, but having Irma in our corner, took a lot of the stress out of the process. After making arrangements to fly to Las Cruces, Irma picked us up, spent a week showing us endless properties, was never pushy and spent much of her valuable time giving us a tour of the area, and even bought us lunch! Irma finally found the perfect property, exactly what we expressed that we wanted. Irma then kicked into high gear and handled everything for us in a swift and professional way.
